Why LED?
The LED lights provide a backlight that helps give good contrast to the picture and these lights use much less power than earlier televisions did. Plasma televisions are not as bright as an LED television.
LED can come in three types. One is an edge lit type. This has lights placed around the edge as in other backlit sets.
